Dian was born in Texas and lived there until she married Bill and moved to Nebraska in 1991. She is a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy in Austin, Texas and received her Bachelor of Liberal Studies Degree in Public Administration from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas.
Dian began a professional career with the Texas Department of Transportation’s Motor Vehicle Division in 1967. During her 25-year tenure with the TXDOT, she completed her bachelor’s degree while holding a variety of progressively responsible positions – the last five years as Division Director.
After relocating to Nebraska, Dian began a second career as an education coordinator for Northeast Community College (NECC), headquartered in Norfolk, Nebraska. She was instrumental in establishing the operations of an outreach education facility in O’Neill that provides area residents with the opportunity to pursue associate degree programming in this rural part of the Northeast service area. She retired from this position in 2005, but continues to work as a part-time employee on special projects for the college.
Dian joined the O’Neill Rotary Club in 1997. Her Rotary service includes: O’Neill Rotary Club President in 2004-2005; District Assistant Governor 2006-2008, 2010-2012 and District Trainer 2009-2011.
Dian and her husband, Bill, are parents to four children and grandparents to seven grandchildren. They reside on acreage outside of Inman, Nebraska. Dian and Bill enjoy gardening together and Dian enjoys relaxing at the bridge table with friends. They are affiliated with st. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill, Nebraska.
